The BD9778 is a Step down DC-DC converter requiring a minimum amount of external components. While the supply voltage Vs may vary from 7 to 35V the output remains stable starting from 1V to Vs or 10 to 100% of Vs. Output voltage and operating frequency are programmable with external components.

The output current limitation protects the integrated P-channel MOSFET against currents larger than 2A (BD9001 / BD9778) and 4A (BD9781). Additional features are: extended temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, thermal shut down and very low standby current.
